Question for Steve Miller: Half-vistani and Vehrteig

Post by BlackBoxGamer »

I'm just wondering if the supernatural ability of Vistani and Vehrteig to recognize one another on sight extends to Half-Vistani and Vehrteig. I ask because I plan on running the Curse of Ashington Manor (with a few personalized changes for my PC's) and one of the players is playing a Half-Vistani, so I'm wondering when/how I should introduce Maekon into the mix and what information I should divulge to the player when the two characters meet.

Thanks,

BBG

The adventure says that the girl the bandits have kidnapped recognizes something about Maekon that scares her. I would make the save for the character in secret, and if you he succeeds you consider how much he knows about Vistani culture. If he spends his every waking hour researching them, make the appropriate Knowledge check and inform him what he might know according to the roll. The check should be very high, as Verhteig are very rare and probably not know outside of the Vistani.

If you don't feel that he could have heard of them and he still makes the save, just tell him that he feels his eyes drawn to Maekon's and a way of fear runs through his body. Eyes are the window to the soul, so maybe you'll want to use that as a descriptive springboard. What lies in the soul of a creature that feeds on violence and hate?
The Remnants have one saying to represent loss, disappearance, exile, and death. It is Shiao Marests, "Taken by The Shadows".

Thanks to both of you for the joint answer. :)

He he he... I can't wait for my players reaction when the scene with Maekon unfolds. :D
