Hi folks,
Just wondering what your thoughts are on Libris Mortis... is it worth getting? Does it bring anything substantially new on the subject of the undead? I have just about every Ravenloft product from 1e through 3.5e, and was most impressed by VGttWD... aside from being a 3.5e product, is there something particularly new or worthwhile in Libris Mortis that would make it essential for a Ravenloft DM?
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

I picked up a copy of it and I have used it a number of times... in my Eberron campaign and not my Ravenloft game. I find that 95% of the material in it is not well flavored for Ravenloft as most of the undead in it are too fantastic for the more gothic setting, and the spells tend to be more grotesque than horrific.
It is still a nice book, and useful if you are running something besides Ravenloft on a regular basis, but if you are on a tight budget and are only running Ravenloft, I don't recommend it.
Hope that helps.

You can find a similar thread discussing this book here. There a number of recommendations about Libris Mortis there, but you might get some more current and detailed responses in this thread.
Personally, I think that it is a good book for ideas and references. However, the materials in the Ravenloft-specific sources (i.e., VRGttWD) are worth your time and money.
