Known Portals out of Ravenloft

Can we possibly complie a list of known ways out of Ravenloft?

The only one I personally know of is in Adam's Wrath, on the Isle of Agony there is a cave system, which is also Adam's lair, and through the end is an opening into the bottom of a chasm. There is an open grave. The individual must exit via the grave.

What else is there?

The obsidian gate in the shadow rift. I also swear that I read somewhere about under a strange moon in Nova Vaasa... Knight of the Black Rose I think...

Early on the mist could be considered a way out. They brought you in for a weekend in hell and if you succedded in defeating the BBEG they took you back out. If you lost you either died or fled into a neighboring domain forever stuck in Ravenloft.

Since most of the early modules involved "getting out of hell" as a goal, there were many like: Jumping through lord Soth's armor at a certain time in WBRB, the portal in Adam's Wrath. Or just having the domain collapse around you when you kill the darklord.

There was also the portal under Hunadora, openable only by the blood of house Gundar in KotBR. And stuff like the Scroll of Return, and Styrix's Rift Spanner.

Okay, what do we have so far?

Portals:
Isle of Agony (Adam's Wrath)
Soth's Armour, at certain times (WtBRB)
The Rift Spanner (RLMCAII, GazII)
Under Castle Hunadora (KotBR)
A Scroll of Return (campaign setting books)
The Onyx Gate (the Shadow Rift)

Misc:
The Mists
Destroy the domain
Kill the lord (but may not always work)

Would be interesting to add a list of the known ways INTO RL to the FAQ too.

For example, IIRC, there was a portal in the north of DL's Thenol and another in Blackmoor... But can't really remember the sources...

Those portals wouldn't necessarily be one-way...

I think also listing the method is important too. I.e. Adam's Portal I think is only open if you defeat Adam (he is destroyed temporarily).

Hunadora was mentioned required the blood of a gundar to open...

I would say :

Kill the lord (but it could be just when the yogurt hit the fan)

Given that Styrix still seems to be *in* Ravenloft, I suspect we can cross the Rift Spanner off the list. Nice try, night hag, but your gizmo doesn't cut it.... :-/

Actually, the Gaz II says the Rift Spanner would work, it's just Styrix hasn't fully charged it yet.

Just because your car is out of gas doesn't mean that it's wholely useless.

If I'm remembering correctly, isn't there a static portal in Bluetspur, in the same mountain as the Godbrain?

There used to be a portal in Barovia in the subterranean chamber of flame where Soth, Azrael, and Magda fought that ooze-like creature in KotBR. However, as Strahd said, it does not function anymore. Or maybe, you need to do something special to activate it...
