The Immortal: Vampires 1.1

Well, some of you might have purchased or read my PDF book The Immortal: Vampires a few months back. I offered a discount to all FOS members a while back that at least three among you took up on.

Well, as a perfectionist, and never quite 100% happy with the book, I realised that there were some changes that could be made, and as it was a PDF, they were not hard to implement.

This book was my baby from begining to end. Only my wife did a little editing, everything else you see in the book, I have made from scratch, from cover to cover - text, art, everything.

I intended just to update some of the text, with minor corrections, spelling mistakes, grammar and some typeset issues. However, I also added in web enhancement material, and found myself adding more and more. What used to be a 134 page book swelled to 160 pages! The artwork, which I had felt was quite rushed in places, I reworked and polished, giving the book a far more professional look (I'll post side by side comparisons if there's an interest).

Anyway, 1.1 version is out!

The good news to those of you who have purchased the book: Check your email, you should have a new link to download the new PDF.

To anyone interested in getting a copy, I've created another special link for FOS members again, that will get you a copy of the PDF version for $9.50 instead of the usual $11.95.

*If you want the PDF discount, you must order from the above link, otherwise:

The print version I can unfortunately offer no discounts on, though I can promise you the quality is very good, and it's professionally bound, with a full cover cover, and a similar size, look and feel to a Ravenloft Gazetteer. It will set you back $17.95 if you want the print (POD) version. You can find the link to order in by clicking the same one above.

For those who are confused about POD (Print On Demand), it's essentially a fancy reference to the method it is published, but is otherwise, a high quality, perfect bound book.

Questions, comments, criticism, it's all welcome.[/b]

I got it from your email, thanks!

What important did you change? (So I can update my review)

For the other readers: interested in "classic" gothic era vampires? This net book PDF is quite cool. See my review in the other d20 products review of this site.

What has changed? I think I'll add a quote from the introduction of the book:
This book features a drastic revision from the original edition of The Immortal: Vampires. Originally produced as an E-Book before going into limited print, this is the second edition of the book, considerably revised, with a number of small additions, but not enough so to warrant a publishing a new ‘revised’ edition.

With the original edition, a number of errors were noticed, and have since been corrected. We also listened to the feedback from our customers and revised and put more work into new and existing artwork.

In this section, you’ll note a slight lengthening of the introduction, particularly in the history of the vampire legend during the iron age, as well as further notes on playing a vampire, including complications that arise for vampire characters, and how these might be overcome.

In the rules section, there’s new information integrated from web articles first posted on the Ultramyth website, a couple of salient powers from our web enhancements, and a number of new magical items geared towards
vampire characters. There’s also a few corrections and clarifications to the rules.

The vampiric bestiary sports new and revised artwork that we’re very proud of, corrections, especially to the romantic vampire, and of course, the addition of another vampire entry; the Vurdalak!

Aside from a few minor spelling corrections and clarifications in Fang & Fame, that concludes the update!

We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed giving it to you!
There is also a number of pages attached to the end of the pdf from an integrated web enhancement (in much higher quality than is available on the website), which includes the Arachnid, Vampire Lord and Vampiric vampires.

Also, for a comparison of the new and old artwork:

I did not have the time to actually read it through I'm afraid. It seemed very well researched from what I read.
