Galen Dies

Post by Wiccy of the Fraternity »

The Galen Saga has ended, after over 5 years, the tale of Galen, his protectors and those wanting to manipulate him has finally ended.

If you have any memories of the game, as a player or observer, please leave them in the Galen Saga forum.

The forum will remain open for a few more days before it is deleted.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the game in some form over other over the past 5 years. You all made it a journey worth taking. It is just a great shame that the person who began it all with such a simple idea, is no longer with us in this time.

Blessings

Wiccy

Rest in Peace Galen.
I have never followed that thread but I have been used to it at the end of the Forum as long as I'm affiliated with a Ravenloft community (Kargatane or Fraternity).

Who started it?

Evee. She's the one who thought of the Baby.

That was Beiderbecke!

Yes, I think she is credited for the baby idea.

Yep, Evee Beiderbecke was the brainchild for Galen. I was also getting to know her better outside the forums just before she left us, a truly wonderful person :(

Ouch! I'm sorry. But that name always seemed confusing. I changed it. Sorry again.

On Topic: Is it quincidental that you chose this time to end the series?
Since the Saga started in 2000 (about the time Ravenloft died 1st time) it seems to me that ending the saga now was a bit expected.

I had suspicions as well, but was not about to put money on it ;)

Hey, at least you were (and maybe still are) the only gay kender vampire in Ravenloft :D

At least I have had one blessing on RL forums, no one has ever accused me of being a black female stripper like I have on others.... thankfully I am more careful with my choosing handles these days, lol. No more opening the dictionary on two random words for me these days, no sir! ;)

pdf?

Why delete something that would be entertaining and especially as it would be beyond the reach of recovery (www.waybackmachine.org doesn't work on forums)? At least turn it into a pdf and put it up on the site.

The Saga's been going for 5 years, most of the original posts are lost to time. There is a tome of collected posts from the first year or so on the site, and I'm converting that into a more traditional "novel" format.

And Al, it's just conincedence that the Saga's ending now. It's been too quiet since December, so it's ending.

Myself and Drinnik have been flogging the Saga far past its death, in fact only bones remain of it. It was time to call it a day and let it be buried. Year 1 was released as a book (it's available on this site for download), I am not sure if anyone collected Year 2, or what little there was of Year 3 :(
