For any book other than directly-Ravenloft, I can wait to buy them. I find that it takes about 1 year for the price to come down on resales places like Ebay. I've been buying most of them for about $10 US and sometimes less. I've already reserved Heroes of Horror on Amazon, I think I saved about $8 - $10 buy doing that, plus I got free shipping for ordering (I think it was) Fane of the Drow at the same time.

Why? Because instead of giving you yet another 200 creatures which you won't remember in a week, it concentrates on templates with which to modify existing ones (including a full example each and every time).
Trust me.
Oh, and it's 3.5 too

For me, it depends. Although RL material is good for RL campaigns, I often use stuff from totally different books (Codex of Erde, Blackmoor Campaign Setting, lately Return to the Temple of Elemental EvilCatman Jim wrote:For any book other than directly-Ravenloft, I can wait to buy them. Ugh. I've heard of people having some real long waits when it comes to buying stuff from Amazon.com. I hate to suggest it, because I'm all about FLGS or Ebay, but Walmart.com generally sells new hardback D&D books for about 2/3rds of the cover price. And their S&H is generally only $1.For any book other than directly-Ravenloft, I can wait to buy them. I find that it takes about 1 year for the price to come down on resales places like Ebay. I've always had good results from Amazon, the only exception was with the last ravenloft book, Dark Tales and Disturbing Legends. I still didn't have it a month after it came out. I had to call them several times and then contact White Wolf several times also before they figured out that they had never sent the shipment of DT&DL to Amazon. I ended up cancelling my order when I found a copy in a gamestore when I was on a business trip. Truthfully now, I wonder if they didn't much care about sales of this book as they were making the decision to return the license.

Same here. My only bad experience with Amazon was regarding DT&DL and the accompanying problems with LotB because I ordered both at the same time. Other than that, I've had nothing but great experiences with them.
