Healers in Lamordia

Post by Pamela »

I do not own the Gazetteers, but my understanding is that Lamordia is not at all religious. My question then is: if I'm looking for a native PC or NPC who's a healer, what's the most likely source?

Does the healer have to be an outsider who's trying to drum up believers? Is there a 'scientific' version of one, who practices mind over matter rather than faith per se?

In Legacies of the Blood there's classes for the Mordenheim bloodline that have healing abilities.

There's also probably a lot of budding doctors who are Experts maxxed out in healing and profession:herbalist skills, with skill focuses in same.

Now, I may be wrong but Lamordia is a huge wilderness... I am thinking a druid would have very little problem adapting to this area.

Or you may always look to Hala as her witches seem to be everywhere.
I remember the first war, the way the sky burned... Faces of angels destroyed.

I don't know, the Smothering of Reason might interfer with a druid's connection to nature. A druid might just as easily discover that the vast woods and mountains are souless and distant.
As well, the frigid climate of the realm wouldn't exactly entice them, either.

Thank you for all your answers; I don't own either Legacies of the Blood or Van Richten's Arsenal, but I'll see if I can find any info online. :)

Somewhere in the Books of S there is a class called the Chirgeon (not sure about the spelling). They are a cut above butchers but several cuts below Mordenheim, lacking his genius and especially the supernatural aid of the dark powers.

(P.S. The golems of Lamordia probably won't get alone very well with a druid)

I just found it in the Book of Secrets; it's spelled chiurgeon there (though chirgeon is also correct). Thank you very much, cure! :D

IMC, Lamordia is so devoid of magic even the simplest healing spells are extremely difficult to come by. Any healing done in Lamordia is done with only mundane kinds of healing, plus natural non-magical healing that in all likelihood is abundant in Lamordia, considering its Reason-inclined doctors.

It's not really bad to have an extremely-low magic Ravenloft. It's like a fantasy derivative of the World of Darkness (both old and new). :)
