A comprehensive list of all fan made stuff !!!

Post by Joël of the FoS »

Dear members of the Fraternity,

Despite the (dreaded) end of the month All Hallow Eve coming fast, it is a great pleasure to let you know that a list of fan made material is now available in the wine cellar.

I made this list of fan-made stuff with my own list files, compiled from a while back when the setting wasn't in 3rd edition. Inside it is all FoS compiled material (QtR and USS) as well as the whole serie of netbook made by the Kargatane and some other fan made stuff as well.

I felt that at this time, a comprehensive list of fan-made material, made by themes, was needed.

Please comment here, I might have time to change it before All Hallow Eve.

Regards,

Joël

I just downloaded the netbook, but I have a question. Where can I find the Haunted Sites 98 at? I went looking on the site but didn't find them. Have I overlooked them? Mordent is my favorite domain and I would like to learn more about it.

Sweet.
Can you make a html version an host it? Or even better a searchable index a la the kargatane catalog or what eves it is called. Now that would be even sweeter...

Hmm, I didn't see the 'Haunted Sites' netbook over on the Kargatane site either, nor did I see the 'Terrors from Above' one. Is it because those were entries in a Dragon Magazine contest and not specifically submissions for a Ravenloft fansite that those are no longer hosted? I still have both of them in my downloads.
BTW, having this index would have been very helpful before I completed the trivia contest. :P
I only wish I had retired sooner!

You did a remarkable job with this Joel, and we others will be eternally grateful! :) Must have been an awkward and long work to put all this together.

Both thumbs up!

:)

Thanks a lot, Joël, I'm really grateful for all the work you put into that list! It's really great for us Noobies to get an idea of what's all been published. Up until now I had no idea of where to start reading, so I browsed through every single netbook, reading a page here and there because I had no idea what most of the articles where about...

Denada. It's a lenghty list I started compiling long ago to keep track of all fan-made stuff.

With the relatively high number of netbooks available from here and the Kargatane's, I felt we needed a good ressource list to make sure the best articles are not forgotten. It would be a sad day when Ravenloft fans would not know who the Morts-qui-dancent (excuse my hard to contain ego), Jack Karn or Ivan Szimin are.

Considering no more canon stuff will be made in the future, as far as we know for the moment, structuring the fan made information was IMHO the first thing to do, before planning for the future.

By the way, if you see other articles that should be in bold, let me know - this file should be updated once in a while.

Seems like I was pretty lucky when I first browsed all the QtR and USS files a few months ago, I had already read all three articles - but there still is a lot of bold entries I haven't read! That will change soon...

Now that I've finished trying to answer the Trivia question, I'll have a bit more time to actually read the articles! When I find one I believe is way above average (while with what I've read of these articles so far, 'average' still is very good!), should I send you a private message or post my suggestion here for discussion?

I've already got a suggestion: An NSC called Andre Bellamont, created by Tobias Blackburn, he's not even in the list yet. The problem is, he's only described in the Adventure Hook Bank here (under 'all Domains'), and while the description is very extensive for an Adventure Hook, I don't know whether it is sufficient to make it into your list. But I find the idea behind Andre very intriguing...
Hm, and I've just read your 'Anna'-Article in the USS 2001, that one is great as well! I think I'll have to look for some coastal town to keep my players in for a while... :-)

For the one that should be in bold, you can suggest them here or by PM, as you wish.

Yes, well that was version one of this list; I'd like to see it grow with your comments - so continue to post them here.

Yes, Indeed, I should add the adventure hook stuff in the list. Bellamont is a cool guy.

*blushes* Hey, thank you. Yes, I loved this little affection-craving critter ;) She was a lot of fun to throw at my players (she was in love with the paladin). But when he rejected her, she threw him off the 100' cliff like a broken doll ;)

Hey Joel, great stuff. It'll be invaluable to find things. (Would've helped for the Trivia contest, that's for sure. ;) )

If you ever expand it to include stuff from personal websites, feel free to put my "Mordentshire Miser" and "Delacourte's Mill" pages under the adventure section.

(If you want to, of course. I won't feel slighted if you don't.)

I reworked the list into a version 2. Anybody wishing to look at it and comment / edit (before it's on the site) can pm me (do not forget to give me your email address is it's not in your profile! ;) )
