I told you that going back to WotC was a good thing after all. Now we can enjoy Ravenloft AND say:
- Hazlik is a red wizard of Thay.
- The name of the Black Rose was Soth
- Rashemani are Rashemani
- There is a domain from the Darksun Setting.

etc.

We are back home. :)

What do you think this will be?
At 160 pages, it seems a bit too big to be a rehash of I6 or House of Strahd.
Any ideas ?

Could it be a new campaign setting?

It must be a trick... or a mistake... it can't have happened that soon, can it?

oink.. flapflap... oink... flapflap...

time to step up those dark sacrifices and get the ritual of reemergence prepared..

WelL I already announced it on the other thread (the one for the novel) ;)

---

My question is its content. 160 pages ? It's not only a 3.5 update of I-6 (House of Strahd was just 65 pages), it's got to be more then that?

With the popularity of Castle Ravenloft in the gamer mythology, this should be a hit for WotC. That is a great news!

If it REALLY is a conversion, I hope it is not a SUPER-POWER module (as the SUPER-POWER Strahd from the Dragon article)... :?

I hope SOMETHING of the rules the people at Arthaus created will stay in the conversion.

It's either for the Ravenloft setting (frankly I doubt it, but hey, we never know), or for a generic fantasy setting (my guess).

I guess we will have the 3.5 update of I-6, with many PC level options, plus possibly other similar gothic inspired encounters or dungeon crawls.

---

Also, Amazon is very god at screwing author listing, so we might have surprise this way too.

160 pages not enough to really be a handbook, since both are over 230. Likely a intro into gothic playing style followed by another revised catle ravenloft adventure under the D&D greneric tag.

Personally, apart from my exaggerated happiness about this, I think it's the last time we will hear about RL from WotC. Ever.

James Wyatt is a strong supporter from RL far back from the days of the Kargatane, and he will have oushed this project as far as he can, just like Erik Mona did with the Living Greyhawk Gaz years ago.

Plus, October is the Halloween season, and I had expected that, after two *companion books, Libris Mortis and HoH, IIRC, they would present an adventure. - In choosing this popular module, WotC follows its strategy of dismissing the older settings, but picking from their content to a) keep oldschool customers like us interested b) make sure that the older licenses stay popular to use them eventually.

But hey, I am looking forward to this module.
Cordell and Wyatt are from WotC's writing elite, and really, it could be worse.

We could be waiting for new Birthright material.

Or new supplements for Dark Sun.

[This might be the first post for ages in which I talk totally serious about a topic... :P ]

A-la Heroes of Horror, you mean?
...
*Sigh*
I guess Strahd will have Improved Critical (slam) and Improved Brawl, then...

Can someone ask at the WotC boards for more info instead of just weird speculation?

PS. Perhaps it is I6 and I10 combined and with info relating these adventures to I, Strahd books.
