Where Next? The Poll

Post by Jester of the FoS »

As I write this the final editing of Survey of Souragne is over 1/4 complete (delayed by work, illness and life). It would be more complete if not for MSWord's insistence on reversing and misapplying any and all formatting I attempt and Joël’s insistence on sending me more files and sidebars weeks after the deadline ended.
No final release date is set but I hope to have it to Stephen for final formatting and approval by the end of this week.

With Joël’s thread racking up the posts I’m changing gears abit and going for a vote system.
The options are:
1- I'd like to see domains covered in order of release starting with the Black Box. The older the domain the sooner we detail it, then working forward to Darklords, Islands of Terror, the Red Box, etc.
2- I’d like to see the lesser described domains first. The ones we NEED information on such as Farelle, Sanguinia, and the Seas. The ones that we can make up the most information for and a Gaz is all but required to set a campaign there.
3- I’d like to see the popular domains first such as Amber Wastes, Shadowlands, Zherisia/Shining Bay.
4- Picked by a drunken monkey who hurls poo at a map of Ravenloft thus selecting the domain.

Interesting... would this include covering pre-Grand Conjunction Gundarak as well as Arkandale?

I vote for domains by detail. When did you ever run Vechor, Rokushima Taiyoo, Nidala, Odiare, etc. only to find that there was nothing on them to help guide you? I use these examples because these are domains where I have had this exact problem.

I think Vechor could be really interesting.

I voted favourites, though I was torn by order of release as well (my mind likes order sometimes ). Fan favourites will at least guarantee a flurry of submissions, let alone readers.

Sorry to hear about the illness, David; I hope that's completely cleared up.

Just a cold really. But I have trouble editing/writing when sick, it's a big distraction. Saps away the motivation to do anything but veg.

My husband's had a wicked cold this past week (now I'm trying not to catch it, agh). It's amazing how well both mental and physical energy seep away at such a time. Good luck on getting the Gazetteer set up by week's end, but don't push yourself too hard about it. :)

I think Vechor could be really interesting.
Idea: Think Easan would ever try to give something a 'negative mass'?

Yes we hope everything goes well David. Thank you for your hard work. Remember, Duct tape fixes everything...and if that doesn't work, break out the WD40.

I voted fan favorites as well.

OOooOOoo tie, this makes things interesting...

On another note delays abound in the Souragne gaz as sickness spread (GF has a wicked cold and I am required as nurse-boy) adding days to required editing time... so there is plenty of plenty of time to vote away.

Actually, numbers like 37% versus 35% to make a decision are usually only found in a country like Canada... Another referendum anyone?

(I'm sorry, I couldn't help it.)

BUT the real question is, and I don't think anyone has asked this, what would the FoS prefer / want? Are there domains nobody cares too much for? Or some that you are just dying to work on?

Just curious...

Patrick

PS: Thanks again for all the hard work.

Im dying to get my hands dirty with the Wildlands. There is so much untapped potential in there that has never been put to paper and needs to come out

Yeah well in Canada we enjoy doing cRaZy things like actually debating the issues, unlike some nations that celebrate handing over their fates to the Dark Powers...

Now back to the topic at hand, I must say the Wildlands are a tasty morsel for development.

I'm pretty sure by this point this poll, and the other thread, are both simply the frat members testing the water.

They have the Souragne Gaz to finish, and I seem to recall there being mention of another QoTR later this year. There's no hurry for their decision.

Agh, lucky you! Hopefully she'll recover quickly, and isn't a bad patient. :P

I think there was also a mention of another Undead Sea Scroll publication...
