IMC, the players are currently heading to Karina to kill Nathan Timothy. I know, it's him or them, they are fed up of having two PCs being afflicted lycanthrope's by Nathan's fault.
I have two cool NPC IMC that are kargatanes: Keith Delalune (Ezra priest) and Jorane Amos (baker. Jorane is in fact Keith's boss). I'd like to feature them even more in their next Karina stay.
Now Nathan T. is a friend of the Falkovnia enclave, so the kargatane are looking at every way to weaken this enclave, by acting directly against it and by weakening the Falkovnian's allies, one of them being Timothy.
The heroes trust Keith (they do not kow he is a kargatane spy) and told him what aretheir plans, which he relied to Jorane. He or she will contact them in this matter, without ever mentioning being Darkon spies.
Now let's say the k have a crucial information against Timothy. What do you think the k could ask the heroes as a return of favor?

kargatane in Karina?
"A full set of (game) rules is so massively complicated that the only time they were all bound together in a single volume, they underwent gravitational collapse and became a black hole" (Adams)
Well, if it is at all personal, a wolfskin rug. I believe the ingredients necessary to prevent a slain werewolf from resuming human form are in Verbrek by the way.
A service to be named later is at once useful and menacing.
If they are corrupt, gold.
If they are basically loyal servants of Azalin, it depends on what his latest 'escape' attempt is, why he cares about Falkovnians in Invidia (Malocchio?), and how much he cares.
Distributing in Barovia printed copies of Van Ritchen's Guide to Vampires would be amusing and spiteful and probably deadly.
Some obscure book off a shelf in Strahd's library.
What about delivering a few kegs of that memory affecting Sithican wine to Castle Avernus?
Some of Malocchio's blood for testing purposes.
Freshly fed vampire roses.

*lol* at the VRGtV idea
I was indeed thinking of a mission to do, a document to recover, something like that...
And IMC the Evil Eye events happened a few weeks ago only. We are December 747 (the year, not the airplane).

If that is the case the kargatane may want knowledge from the party of the events of the Evil Eye. The characters have first hand knowledge of what happen between Malo and his mother. The K would certainly be interested in this confrontation and the changes it will have on the land. They seek out the characters because they have heard rumors that the party was involved or maybe even the party has already let slip that they were involved. The kargatane offers to make a trade of information about Timothy for information about the Evil Eye adventure.Joël of the Fraternity wrote:*lol* at the VRGtV idea![]()

I agree with the idea of using the Evil Eye information as the reward to the Kargatane. First-person accounts are cool as one thing. If you wanted to also make the PCs perform a service, perhaps have the PCs steal the jailor/torturer's logbook on the slow psychological breakdown of Gabrielle Aderre while in prison, as that might give Azalin specific insights into how a darklord's connection to the land might weaken over time, thus assisting his own studies on breaking out. Additionally, by keeping informed on her psychological status, Azalin also might be able to better predict if/when darklordship would switch to Malocchio, thus affecting the overall power structure of the Core.
Thinking about that too, that could also lead to other adventures dealing with the Gundarakite revolution, if desired. After all, if Azalin gets such a report, sees that Aderre is about to break and die (and thus make Malocchio darklord, completely ruining Azalin's plans for the Dukkar), Azalin might take some interest there, again hiring the PCs to break Aderre out of prison "to safeguard the Indivian government from such a reckless tyrant as her son." After all, who knows how many pies that Azalin has his fingers in?
