Fraternity of Shadows Con in Europe?

Post by Le Noir Faineant »

Hello,

Would this be something worthy to discuss? - What about organizing a meeting uf us European mist-claimed for some time next year? - I believe to recall that the Canadians among us here have already met, so why shouldn't we do the same. I already have some ideas how to manage this without letting it become too expensive.

:) Maybe Wiccy or Drin could manage it as the special hosts.

Just a silly idea of mine, but not without appeal, I think.

So, what do you say?

Yours,

Rafael

Only if it was in Blighty, London for preference. I don't have the money to travel far into the continent. Paris could be a choice, I suppose.

Hmmm...
Why not in Milan, then.

I had thought that we could maybe gather in a youth hostel somewhere - near my town is an old castle that is now used as such, and lodging there comes fairly cheap. (About 100 € for a weekend if you come alone, about 60 € if you lodge there as a group.)

Travelling there also could be cheaper than one thinks, with the Frankfurt airport, and thus Ryan Air connection, fairly near.

All in all, this would come to about 200 € for everyone - which is much for me as well, being the poor student that I am, but compared to other travels, moderate.

Maybe we could make this work some time next year? :)

If carefully planned, I think that would be -as the Pope would say- extremely cool.

I have to go to Spain next year with my fiancee for her final project at university (I know. I'm sacrficing much. I'm a selfless person. Yes. I know.). We could make a stop in Germany along the way. :D

Ah, ja, Deutshland! I like that idea. Whilst England obviously would be easier for me to get to, I know Germany pretty well and speak German to a good enough standard that at least some people understand me. So it would definitely be my second choice.

Of course, I wouldn't insist on this event being held in Germany. If someone knows a good palce that would be easy to access, I would welcome it.

Paris, for instance, like Drin metioned it, could be a cool and *stylish" place to meet as well...

(No idea if the Rue Morgue really exists, but what better place would be there for a gathering of FoSies? 8) 8) 8) )

Here's the website of the place I mentioned before:

http://www.burg-rothenfels.de/burgseite/index.php

I have already visited the place on several other occassions, and can report that, while it's no 5-stars-hotel, for a youth hostel it's okay. And, of course, it's gothic feeling for a low price... :)

But hey, any other ideas are very welcome! If there's going to be a meeting, I don't want to come up like a bossy wanna-be-headperson. :)

Maybe some of the Great Eight also want to join us...?

- In general, as soon as we have, say 15 members who are willing to participate, we could begin to talk about more concrete locations and dates. :)

I suggest a sunny, calm greek island.
...
What, isn't it gothic enough? ^_^
