"Big Eyes, Small Mouth" has always been a generic *anime* game system--with Tri-Stat being the game engine, I suppose. That's what the question was about... an RPG geared for anime flavor. (Although, frankly, i think BESM is perfectly good for a much wider range.)

As for the whole dX thing... I wasn't terribly fond of Tri-Stat d10 and dX only compounded the sin, in my opinion. (But we're getting into design philosoiphy here and waaaaay off-topic. :) )

Close. I think the 2nd-ed of "Hong Kong Action Theatre" and "Heaven and Earth" both used the Tri-Stat/BESM system.

As in the old RPG where you're playing genetically engineered, hyper-advanced animals used to prepare alien worlds for colonziation?

Here I thought I was the only person in the world who still had a copy of that game!

Yep, that's the game. None of us liked the original rule set much, but the GM decided to substitute it for the BESM system and that worked very well :)

I played a feline science officer, possibly a little to well; I would get distracted by the flashing lights on the display and forget to tell the rest of the crew that some of those flashing once meant some danger, heheheh.

Some time passed and some authors gave me their blessings to translate and publish their texts from Book of S.... and once again I´d like to give my thanks to all of them.

Anyway, there is a big part of Book of S., the authores of which are the the members of ex-Kargatane themselves.
As any of my e-mail requests didn´t meet with answer, I´d like to address them this way:

A. Hackard, A.Cermak, John W. Mangrum, A. Wyatt, R. Naylor, S. Turner - would you permitt me to translate and republish the text you contributed to Books of S. on my Czech website?

As I have no other possiblity of contacting them, if anyone on this forum is in contact with ex-Kargatanes, please, try to let them know about my request here.

Seems I remember an ebay auction for bound copies of all the BoS's up to that date.....fortunately it was pulled before bloodshed ensued.

Feel free to use anything written my moi, i.e. Stefan MAC in your Czechiness.
