I threw that out the widow.
That's...a really odd restriction. But this seems to be a private residence anyway?

Soooo ... is it a regular river, or is it running with blood?

Ah ...! Two identical-looking men, both apparently Falkovnians, and one of them is going to chop the other up like kindling ... I'm still a bit puzzled as to what's going on here.

D to the o to the ppleganger, yo.

Preludes are supposed to be confusing, and I'm guessing this is the build up to Our Heroes's next big adventure. I could be wrong, though.

Wouldn't a doppelganger be fine with killing someone, so it could get at their brain?

Only greater doppelgangers from Monsters Of Faerun need to eat a person's brain to duplicate them. Digging a grave for the corpse of the replaced person might seem degrading to a high-ranking dopp, however, if it's used to delegating that work to underlings.

And if one of those guys is a dopp, who's to say it's not the human original who's wielding the axe?

Don't doppelgangers revert to their own form after death?

Unless they have a specific racial feat, they do. But the dude on the ground might not be dead, just unconscious/paralyzed/whatever.

Might not be dead yet. Judging from the sillhoette, I suspect the fellow on the ground is going to be in multiple pieces shortly.

There's always the less exotic possibility the two men merely resemble one another because they are closely related- brothers, perhaps? Twins?
Delight is to him- a far, far upward, and inward delight- who against the proud gods and commodores of this earth, ever stands forth his own inexorable self.

As for leaving the core. Well a giant brain could have decided to do *that*

I am back after resolving computer issues (Windows can DIAF), so hi everyone. The two weeks of back comics was a nice good read.

More than one person around my local gaming/sci-fi community is reading your comic now Isabella, even a few that don't like or know Ravenloft :D

Awwww. Thanks. Sometimes I wonder what I was thinking for starting this thing up, but its all for little comments like that.
That, and spreading the madness can never be a bad thing. Enter the mists!

...Also, I spelled Parnault Bay wrong. This is because it says "PERNAULT BAY" in big letters on the map in Gaz 3. So it's Pernault Bay now!

"That guy that looks like Baron Samedi. He's a bad guy, right?"
"He's the dreadlord of the domain"
"That's a bad thing, right?"
"Depends with him -- are you alive or dead?"
"..."
"Actually nevermind. It's a bad thing either way."

Eh, the character's map of the Dementlieuse coastline might've spelled it wrong too, right?

And hey, doesn't that lady steering the boat look familiar? Have we got a cameo appearance by Ms. Snowmane, there? :D
