I like the plan. Have a good weekend ewan and I sent you an update on the Clockwork Mage. You should have more by the end of the weekend. The functions are interesting to say the least

You guys may evade the gendarmes by leaving ahead of them and taking an alleyway or a side street. That is, unless you wish to stay and talk with them.

I've posted a sleeping scene for Jon. He's still there whenever you guys begin coming back in, one at a time or all in a group.

Yes, and she remains basically unresponsive. She is unconscious for a while, and even after she wakes up, she cannot speak, and seems in a stupor of some kind.

So while we have a break IC, what are y'all's takes on what's going on so far?

I think we'd better pay special attention to Evie here soon. Van Diecks or whomever killed that girl at the brothel was paying a lot of attention to her hair, which is the same color as Evie's. At the expense of getting all CSI here, we might be dealing with a serial killer-type scenario, where the killer goes after women with a similar look. Just a thought.

has there been other red headed chicks killed? it might be too soon to jump to that conclusion if this is the first body its probably forshadowing

Granted, the prostitute was the first murdered girl we've found with red hair, but then again, Evie's been kidnapped or attacked a good four or five times now by people associated with these guys. I agree that it may be too soon to say if Evie's in immediate danger, but my guess is there's a connection in the hair. I wouldn't be making such a big deal of it, except that the killer had paid a lot of attention to the prostitute's hair.

i think she was killed cause Norzak was going back for marie. The scene was probably there just for the horror checks. It is Ravenloft after all...should we look into her death or try to find Evie? (whom my character hasn't met yet)

Evie is Denys Sancerre's daughter to whom Cirdan is betrothed. Not sure about the red hair angle but we can't put anything to chance. Say weren't there more ladies kidnapped before Evie? We could ask ewan the color of their hair on Sunday night.

Ultimately we just don't know. Ewan's dangled a lot of threads out in front of us, and the only one we've managed to tie off thus far was killing Malreux (which, hopefully after Renault, some one had the forethought to gentle repose him to stop...whoever's behind this from just bringing him back.)

Perhaps a recap for the new people. The story started with us foiling an attempted kidnapping of the girl, Evie, by several hired thugs from a man named Pierre Renault. We hunted Renault down, and got our first taste of Norzak's interrogation technique. Renault told us he had an eye for the girl and was trying to take her for himself, which seems to me at least to be a lie in retrospect. In any case, before we could find anything else out, Norzak lopped off his thumb and the man panicked and threw himself out a window, killing himself. That should have been the end ofthat, but it wasn't.

We met Evie's father, Denys Sancerre, shortly thereafter. That's when we joined his employment, both as a protector for the girl and as a means for him to investigate several artifacts Sancerre's men had found inside the stone they were salvaging from one of the buildings in the city. The artifacts were a key, a scroll containing an incantation to summon an extraplanar creature subservient to a plague god known as Incabulos, and a mirror. This mirror, Benn discovered, allows one to look through into a distant castle, or tower, or something of that nature. Therein, he was nearly charmed by a blue eyed, pale skinned "woman" who knew his name and called for him to come join her, leading to his insisting that the mirror be covered and safely stowed away at all times from then on.

Doing some research, Benn discovered an old tale of a woman from near Norzak's homeland, in ancient Darkon. The story discussed a land filled with people who offered sacrifices to this Incabulos as a means of appeasing him. The sacrifices involved locking girls inside of subteranean chambers, where they would never be seen again outside of scratch marks on the walls. A woman tried to stand up to him, but ended up basically going mad and killing most of the people in her homeland, before the whole thing vanished into the mists. Benn believes this woman to be the woman he saw through the mirror.

Since then, as Brock mentioned, Evie's nearly been kidnapped on several occasions. One we foiled at the river district. Another we were less succesful, where they took the girl out of her home and we had to catch up with her kidnappers. Following the trail led us to the now reanimated Pierre Renault, who had returned as an undead creature known as a Druagr, who can drain life from creatures with his claws and is generally impervious to pain. We cut off an arm and set him on fire, and he threw himself into the Musarde, frustratingly leaving us wondering if he's still alive. This is partially why we're trying so hard to get into the Ezran Library, as there are rumors of archives on the subject of combatting the undead there.

We finally tracked Evie down, finding her being held by a man named Malreux, who was apparently the one who wanted Evie all along. He was in the process of leaving with her, so we killed him and rescued the girl. There was not much evidence of what he was doing or why on the boat.

Cirdan then left for a period of three wees/six months, the reason for the discrepancy is not clear. We were fostering contacts to try and explore the sewers of the city, as both Norzak's people in Darkon and some of the legends Benn has unearthed in his research indicate the possibility of a portal built by the Incabulites somewhere in the sewers. Like good little Cthulthu scientists, we're not leaving well enough alone and going to actually try and find this thing. But a wrench has been thrown in the plan by Van Deicks, a former associate of Malreux, and his men putting a price on our heads and in all likelihood stealing the artifacts.

Ok, that about sums it up. If I missed anything feel free to point it out.
