Starscream's article on Eberron undead and Ravenloft got me thinking about Mourning Pyre (from the Mistipedia Hub project), the domain inspired/coming from Eberron. I thought it might be nice to start a new thread about brainstorming ideas for Mourning Pyre or other ways to link Eberron to Ravenloft. Feel free to comment or add your own ideas.
The mourners (from the 5 Nations Eberron sourcebooK), a type of wispy undead native to the Mournlands and only to the Mournlands- they cannot exist outside of it. Mourners seem like they would make great native monsters of Mourning Pyre, as would a lot of the undead mentioned in Starscream's article- the vasuthant representing torn holes in space-time, bloodhulks and other stuff remnants of the Last War, etc. Even the Vour, birthed in Karrnathi labs, is said to have been encountered in the Mournlands- and it could thereforee conceivably wind up in Mourning Pyre.
Unrelated to the undead ideas from above, I also had an idea for Clockwork Idylla. The entry in the Mistipedia says that a mad warforged clocksmith/tinkerer is the only intelligent being in the town. One possible origin story for him might be that he might have been connected to the Cult of the Becoming God, a religion followed by warforged in which they thought they could build a god for themselves just as humanity had built them. The Clockwork Idylla warforged could have been the leader of a radical sect that went to great lengths- even giving up their lives- to animate their god. The Clockwork Idylla warforged could have done something that involved the destruction of his followers- perhaps some great mass ceremonial suicide or some such thing. Only after the fact did he realize that what he wanted and enjoyed was the social connection the cult provided, not so much the god itself.

Re: Mourning Pyre, Eberron monsters, etc.
I like the idea of the mad warforged, in that the only thing it has for company is the now Built God. It has no sentience, it can't even communicate, it just seems to put off presence and a sense of power. And so the warforged goes all the more insane, as not only is it alone, it is faced with this possibility that all it ever strove for was this: a giant idiot god that has a soul but no mind.
Also, if creeping death came from the day of mourning, that means it was part in Cyre. So that means there could be multiple domains that were created on the Day of Mourning.
