For...reasons, I've been researching horror films recently. OK, it's because I don't generally like straight horror films, preferring genre mashups, but I want to know more about them because I can't make everything be a mashup.
Ahem.
Anyway, I suspect someone's fandom of Hammer Horror films led to our feline friend, because Vampire Circus has a vampire (Emil) who transforms into a black panther.
Maybe this is common knowledge and I just hadn't run across it before, but I only recently became acquainted with that film, and seeing mention of a vampire panther was a eureka moment for me. Von Kharkov's character sketches had always seemed a bit convoluted like someone wanting a ninja pirate zombie robot character, but trying to do a knockoff of a film character makes his origin make more sense to me now.
