[Minis] Revamping the site

Post by Brandi »

The first four of the new miniature writeups for my website (of older figures, admittedly) are up at http://webs.lanset.com/brandiweed/Ravenloft/.

Each mini gets a review of its sculpt and a discussion of painting techniques, and the new pictures are larger (and seem to point out every little flaw  )...

Keep checking back as I add more writeups over the next few days.

While I'm planning the next round of writeups (and had to retake a couple of photos, as there was a rather visible hair stuck to the mini!) I thought I should ask: how much detail should I go into on the painting writeups? Would noting brands of paint and ink be of interest to those who do paint? (Mind you, some of my paints are old... some haven't even been made for several years.)

Totally out of context, and for that I present my humble appologies.
But since RL miniatures are in discussion, I would like to ask, where can I get my hands on this miniatures? Is the line still in stores? E-Bay perhaps?

The line is dead as Duke Gundar and far less likely to return; while Ironwind Metals can and does reissue many Ral Partha pieces, they don't have the rights to any of the lines licensed by TSR, even assuming the molds weren't destroyed.

Pieces do turn up on eBay, but I imagine they're more in demand than when I got my set, about a year before Ravenloft 3e even debuted (I also lucked out insanely by finding someone selling ALL BUT ONE of the minis in one huge lot, then picking up that stray singleton-- Ivana Boritsi-- in a second auction).

Thanks for the info.... I´ll try to fish something out of E-Bay.
Then again I wish the line was back ...from the grave.

Thanks Again!! :D

I'm remaking the mini page, and I add as many painted mini as I can to it. I will add the new ones, Brandi, as I posted the Ivana link already. Keep us posted of the newbies in your collection!

No worries-- I've been kind of slack in my updates.

Say, if you can possibly get the names of the sculptors who did the Life Energizers and the Lab Tables, I'd be curious to know. I seem to remember that they were among the few things NOT sculpted by Dennis Mize for that line, but as I usually don't keep the blister packaging I don't have the names anymore. (Actually, any note of pieces not done by Dennis Mize would be appreciated.)
