"Black Crusade" lives!

Post by Mouseferatu »

Hey, guys.

Black Crusade, my Ravenloft novel that was canceled when WotC decided not to continue the Ravenloft: Dominion line, is appearing as a weekly serial on the Wizards of the Coast website. And apparently, you needn't be a subscriber to the Insider to see it (or at least not so far). :-D

Find the prologue here--http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/4dnd/20090116--and come back next week for Chapter One.

this is fantastic news. I can't wait to read it.

And I sincerely hope you didn't get hurt financially on this. While I'm sure it's gratifying just to have your hard work read, I sure hope they are paying you at least similarly to what they would have if it were published in book form. I know nothing about the publishing business, so I don't know if this sort of thing happens all the time, or what. But it sure seemed to stink to have the book announced and available for pre-order and then have it killed.

I hope you enjoy it. :)

I appreciate the concern, but no, it's all good. I was paid my up-front fees upon delivery of the manuscript. There are no royalties this way, but royalties are never guaranteed anyway (since those depend on the book selling reasonably well).

Hello Ari, that's quite cool. Count us as weekly readers.

Would anyone be willing to keep track of updates and post them here? Because I want to read this but am too scatterbrained to remember to tune in every week.

They should be mirrored, lest they go away or, more particularly, get archived in the paying part of the site.

PS A very good beginning.

I can't promise I'll always remember, but I'll try to post links when new chapters go up.

Great, great lecture. I have one question: I'd like to copy your text and post it on my blog, for people who don't visit Fraternity or WOtC website. Is it ok? I don't want to break or violate any copyriight laws.

Heya.

Unfortunately, permission of that sort isn't up to me. It's up to Wizards, and they have a pretty strict policy about not wanting people to copy stuff from the site.

It would, however, be just fine for you to post a link on your blog. :)
