Inhabitants of Il Aluk are residents of the ruined city. Those of the living who are not known to have escaped the Requiem through prior death, emigration, or fortuitous business outside of the city, are presumed to still exist within it as the Slain and are counted as inhabitants of Il Aluk. They are likewise counted as inhabitants of Necropolis. The living of Il Aluk who died prior Requiem died, who emigrated for elsewhere, or had the good fortune of being outside of the city when the catastrophe struck are former inhabitants of Il Aluk. Joining them are those of the preexisting undead and of the newly minted Slain who quit the city, principally either in flight from the rule of Death or for the convenience of being nearer their living prey.
