The Astrasya Mandiram was a temple dedicated to Ravana when the Rakshasas ruled Bahru. The temple was abandoned when Maharaja Arijani destroyed the rakshasas, but when Ravana's Bane came back into his possession in 738 BC, Arijani commanded the Dark Sisters to guard the artifact in the building now known as the Astrasya Mandiram. Because the mandiram stands on the far side of Bahru from Mahakala, Ravana's Bane was far enough to Arijani to tolerate its presence but close enough to keep an eye on. However, three years later Ravana's Bane vanished during the Rebirth of Kali, and the Astrasya Mandiram was abandoned again.[1]
