Black Suns

The Black Suns are a secret sect within the Church of Taiia, which was created by Euphonia Root sometime after 711 BC. It is mainly active in the domain Conquista.

Hiding among the other faithful, members of the Black Suns may pretend to be lay followers or even members of other sects, but ultimately owe fealty only to themselves. The sect is in essence a secret inquisition, whose purpose is to identify heretics, blasphemers, pagans, and other enemies of the faith of Taiia hiding among her people, and to then eliminate them.

It is worth noting that according to the dogma of Taiia's faith, the Black Suns are themselves a heresy or possibly even a blasphemy, as they believe in the existence of other gods and fiends besides Taiia, seeing them as the patrons of their targets. In addition, they rarely focus on outside enemies, instead being focused on internal enemies; meaning the people they are most likely to attack at least identify outwardly as the faithful of Taiia. In addition, members of the Black Suns regularly masquerade as heathen priests to stir up unrest, with the intention of showing the true believers that enemies of the faith exist and need to be put down.
