The Land
Blaustein is a tiny, flat island with flora and wildlife that is typical of such a region. Located at the northern part of the island is Castle Bluebeard and the village beneath it.[1]
The People
The folk of Blaustein are generally a happy lot, a rarity in Ravenloft. The Blausteiner loyalty to their lord Bluebeard is absolute, and they follow his decrees without question.[3] In contrast to their utmost love for their lord, the folk of Blaustein show a rabid hatred for foreigners who would land upon their docks- taking torch and club to such unexpected visitors.[1][2]
The Law
Bluebeard and his cult of personality is the only law on Blaustein. So much as simply displeasing the man can result in a grisly execution - or worse. His own subjects fall victim to his wrath quite often, and one can expect to see a corpse hanging from the noose at the docks of Blaustein. Despite this obvious tyranny, his people still blindly adore their lord.[1]
Closing the Borders
It is unknown if Bluebeard has the ability to close the isle's borders.
Further Reading
Blaustein also appears in "Sight and Sound." Bluebeard receives a fairly thorough description in the Darklords accessory (p.22-27). Castle Bluebeard is mapped on p.27.
