Spiders are predatory arachnids[1] that range in size from the minute to the monstrous[2][3]. Encounters with spiders of all types were once common in the now-vanished domain of Arak.[4] Various types of spiders can also be encountered in the domains of Barovia (particularly the region that was formerly Gundarak[5]), Borca[6][7] (and previously Dorvinia[8]), Darkon[9][10], Cavitius[11], Dementlieu[12][13], Forlorn[14], Invidia (particularly the region that was formerly Gundarak[5]), Markovia[15][16], Monadhan[17], Mordent[18][19], Richemulot [20][21], the Shadow Rift[22], Sithicus[23], Sri Raji[24] Valachan[25][26], Verbrek (in the region that was formerly Arkandale)[27], Avonleigh.[28], and the Eyrie[29]
