Wereshark is a Werebeast phenotype based on the animal form of a shark. As one might expect, they are generally aggressive and greedy predators[1]. The majority of weresharks are sahuagin, and sahuagin weresharks generally exist in high esteem within sahuagin society[1]. (Although lycanthropy is usually restricted to giants and humanoids[2], sahuagin weresharks are apparent exceptions). Human weresharks also exist, though normally only as selfish and territorial loners, often making lairs of sea cave or sunken ships[1]. In their humanoid form, human weresharks bear the unusual ability to breathe water for up to an hour before needing to hybrid or shark form to avoid drowning[1].
Vulnerabilities
According to Van Richten, a slight to moderate majority of weresharks may be damaged by weapons made of silver, although some are vulnerable to flint or petrified wood weapons instead. Of these, the first two are correct. Weresharks also demonstrate aversion to the mangrove plant[3].
Encountering Weresharks
Weresharks can be encountered in oceans of various climates.[1] Presumably within the Demiplane of Dread, this would include the Nocturnal Sea, Sea of Sorrows, and Saragoss.
