Catriona nic Duibh is a Tepestani woman who studied religion at the University of Dementlieu. She departed the University seeking Nidala, intending to write her dissertation upon a comparison of the worship of Belenus in Tepest and Nidala. However, the supposed mistway to Nidala turned out to be the Emerald Stream, and Catriona found herself stranded in Sri Raji.[1]
Fortunately for Catriona, she was able to reach Tvashti, where she convinced the Triad of Scholars to hire her at the Great University of Tvashti. For nearly two decades she has been a guest instructor of Languages of Exotic Lands, teaching Mordentish and Tepestani.[2] She married a Vaishya man named Venkata Baj, and the two have started a family.[3]
Catriona has finally submitted her new dissertation, a consideration of the Rajian faith, to the University of Dementlieu. Excepts from her dissertation are presented in Contradictions and Mysteries.[4]
One of the reasons why Catriona was sent to Dementlieu is because she has the occasional true dream, and such things are not taken kindly in Tepest.[5]
