In Expedition to Castle Ravenloft, the Dayheart is a powerful magic item made of crystal. It protects Strahd and any other linked vampires from sunlight. Its hardness is enhanced by the Hellheart locket.[1] It is powered by psychic energy from the devil's trees of the Devil's Garden.[2]
