Dvorak the Tanner[1] is an NPC from the module, Dark of the Moon. In universe, he is a bitter, old curmudgeon whose hateful disposition has alienated him from much of the rest of the village of Vorostokov. However, his meanness is not entirely without good reason.
Biography
Dvorak is miserable and old, having seen his wife and children murdered by the minions of Gregor Zolnik. In the years since, Dvorak's good judgement has slipped away, becoming hostile to his fellow people (even the children) and neglectful of his home and workshop. He assumes the worst of strangers and newcomers, assuming them to be bandits or worse.
In Dark of the Moon
Dvorak readies a crossbow against any who approach, but player characters that somehow reach him without getting shot may find him a valuable source on the movements of Zolnik and the Boyarsky.
