Francisco Garcia is a Ghost, born in Spain. He lived in New Orleans. He was the son of Juan-Pedro and Maria Garcia, and the husband of Anjelique. He now haunts the Little River.
Juan-Pedro was abusive both to the young Francisco and to Angelique. Francisco eventually blamed Maria for his father's excesses, seeing her as a negligent enabler. When Maria fell sick, Fransisco also blamed her for it and smothered her on her deathbed, thinking it would repair his alcoholic father's spirit. However, Juan-Pedro became even worse in his alcoholism. To avoid absolute poverty and starvation, Fransisco murdered his father.
Years later, Francisco became married to Anjelique. He proved to be an abusive husband himself, and ultimately ended up killing his wife as she tried to flee from him. Anjelique's death at his hands drove Fransisco over the edge. He hid her body in a coffin and made a personal shrine for her in his house.
An old friend and escaped slave Bras-Coupé later returned to Fransisco's house, hoping to receive medical attention for his wounds. Fransisco was away, but Bras-Coupé was dumbfounded by the coffin in his friend's house. Fransisco came home to find Bras-Coupé staring at the coffin, assumed the worst, and stabbed his former friend to death. Before he died, Bras-Coupé cursed Francisco.
Francisco later returned the corpse of Bras-Coupé to the authorites for a reward. However, this action ultimately led the police to look through his hut, where they found the body of Anjelique. For this murder, Garcia himself was executed. Bras-Coupé's curse caused him to rise as a ghost.
