Hugo the Conqueror

Sir Hugo the Conqueror is the historical leader of the Taiia-worshipping people that invaded Conquista and enslaved the natives during the land's false history. Conquista's capitol city Hughsrest in the northern cantón was named in his honour, and also contains his tomb.

As no one can agree whether the invaders were Casians or Canana, there is a longstanding and bitter argument about whether Sir Hugo's remains should be interred in the northern or the middle cantón of Conquista.

The truth is that a deranged serial killer has been systematically destroying the remains of Conquista's historical 'heroes' and replaced them in their own graves with his freshly-slain victims. Sir Hugo's rotting bones were the first to go.
