Native Monsters of Lack-Light |
Lack-Light is a scientifically advanced, but underdeveloped Island of Terror adrift in the Mists of Ravenloft.
The Land
Most of the domain is cloaked in dense forest, even the mountains, and travel is difficult beyond the domain's network of cemented roads, with the forest slowly encroaching on these. Lack-Light is home to the main town of Lipsade, once a logging town and now the domain's capitol, and a handful of minor villages.
The People
The human population of Lack-Light exists in a constant state of low-grade terror and worry; ever since the domain's skies became almost permanently shrouded by clouds and rolling fogs, the land has cooled, light has diminished, and it is often difficult to grow enough crops to feed everyone.
The Dangers
The domain's forests are home not only to the prey animals the human population is partially dependent on, but also to unnatural predators that consider the humans to be their main source of nourishment. Life in the domain is hard, scientific development has been stagnant for the last three centuries, with the existing technology constantly on the verge of breaking down, and every citizen - both young and old - is expected to be dutiful and productive to ensure everyone's survival.
The Monsters
Surprisingly, the monsters native to the land mostly keep their distance. Both the domain's wolfweres and vampyres prefer to live in the wilderness, where they build their own manses and from which they emerge to prey on the weak, the sick and the foolish, rather than live among humanity. The sole exception is the domain's Darklord, Daniel Spicui, who is held in general contempt by the other supernatural predators.

In 765 BC, Heroes of Chibiloft Comoară and Wick find themselves in Lack-Light, indicating that the domain is not wholly isolated. They encounter the Succubus Slap there, who helps them escape after they rescue one of the intended victims of the land's Darklord. These events may possibly have rekindled some feeling of hope among the human population.
