M'selle Merçi is one of the Loa of Raba in the Wartorn Cluster. She is counted among the Loa ap Mache.
M'selle Merçi appears as a beautiful, dark-haired woman, dressed in the most elegant fashions of the Core. Her outfits and hairstyle are different every time she appears, but she is always accompanied by a throng of rats, which either dance attendance on her or die in her wake.
In the mythology of Raba, M'selle Merçi is one of the reasons for the Great Invasion, as the rats that follow her every whim gnawed at the ships that carried the invader tribes, forcing them to land on the western shore of Raba or else sink into the Sea of Torment. This first act of sabotage has set the course for her future appearances and actions in Raba; M'selle Merçi spies on mortals, causes calamities - typically through causing infestations of vermin - then 'fixes the problem' - typically through the use of poison and disease, which cause further problems - and demands to be rewarded. Most rites in her name are meant to preemptively appease her, so she will not see the need to play her cruel tricks.
