First mentioned in the article "Little Horrors"[1], Philosophus Lugens is one of the Loa or Spirits worshiped by the Chi-Folken of Madego.

In Chi-Folken mythology, Philosophus Lugens is the spirit of forethought and contemplation. In his positive aspect, he forewarns mortals of danger and teaches both wisdom and caution; in his negative aspect, he embodies detachment from the concerns of the here and now and inaction.

Relationships

Philosophus Lugens is closely connected to fellow Loa Grossvaterbaum, and is said to nest in its branches, where he distills knowledge and wisdom from the winds that whisper there. It shares its home with Funis Magicus, but nothing has been said of their relationship to each other.

Appearance

When depicted or manifested, Philosophus Lugens appears as a great raven. His hoarse voice is a warning of danger and an invocation of protection.
