Roger Pembrooke

Roger Pembrooke was born in Mordent, but the Mists carried him to Sri Raji. Armed with his trusty Schultheiss rifle, he has hunted all manner of wild animals across the jungles of Sri Raji. He even claims to have hunted naga in the Accursed City of Bahru.[1]
Pembrooke makes no effort to adapt to Sri Raji, insisting that the Rajians instead adapt to him. He does speak Rajian but poorly and reluctantly.[1]
Roger Pembrooke does not realize that Maharaja Arijani killed him in Bahru. He lingers in the Land of Mists as a material ghost, appearing as one of the living except that he no longer casts a shadow. Most Rajians recognize that he is a ghost, but there's no point in telling him so. He's no better at listening dead than he was alive.[1]
