Romir Hiregaard
|
|
This section contains canon info from officially published sources |
Prince Romir Hiregaard was the father of Sir Tristen Hiregaard. He is recognised as being a former Prince of Nova Vaasa. He was in fact born in outside the Land of Mists and died before his land was snatched up by the Mists and given a place within their confines. Hence he is Vaasi and not Nova Vaasan.
Out of jealous rage Romir Hiregaard slew his wife and her dancing instructor due to the mistaken belief that they were having an affair. Romir's wife cursed him with her dying breath to murder any future love interest and any man who angered him. To escape the curse, Romir committed suicide, but the curse did not die with his physical body. It was passed on to his son Tristen in the form of Malken.[1] Malken, and perhaps Romir, can only be truly destroyed with the eradication of the Hiregaard Bloodline.[2]

Some fans have proposed that Malken is actually the ghost of Romir, possessing his descendants.
