Shadow Fey Subtype

The Shadow Fey subtype is a subtype possessed by all members of the Arak as well as any creatures that become infused enough with the dark energy of the Shadow Rift. Though usually creatures with this subtype are fey, any creature of the aberration, animal, dragon, giant, humanoid, magical beast, monstrous humanoid, outsider, or vermin may obtain this subtype. The Arak, through their magic, may impose this subtype on creatures . Gwydion can impose this subtype upon any sylvan fey within the Shadow Rift . Preexisting creatures that are newly granted this subtype gain a +2 increase to their CR.

Creatures of this subtype generally have the following characteristics:

• darkvision and low-light vision
• Alternate Form of a few animals connected by a theme (e.g. scavengers)
• Vulnerability to sunlight
• Loss of some special abilities when continuously touching cold iron
• Damage Reduction negated by a specific type of weapon material, as well as immunity to damage from weapons made of a different material as well as a type of energy (fire, cold, or electricity), as determined by alignment
• Spellcasting, as a sorcerer, though the spell list may be either the Cleric Spell List, Druid Spell List, or the Sorcerer/Wizard Spell List
