Tindertwig is the darklord of the Dread Elemental Domain of Pyre. He is a treant who transgressed the taboo on using fire and became an arsonist. Now he is continually on the run from pyre elementals.[1]
Tindertwig is a treant and would-be reformer and innovator. He believed that treants could learn from the fast-paced, evolving society of humans, particularly the use of fire for controlled burning of dead forest to pave way for new. However, for his transgression of using fire, Tindertwig was made an outcast among his fellow treants. Among the humans he did little better, especially in the cities. After being chased out multiple times, he sorted to using flame to quench the cityfolk's revulsion towards them, first in a scheme to make himself appear as a hero. When that failed, he thought to use it to teach them a lesson, and then finally to wholesale exterminate them, burning out the old to make way for the new. Tindertwig even began to learn fire magic.[2]
After a particularly nasty conflagration, Tindertwig witnessed his victims come back to life as fearsome creatures of flame. This was the beginning of the pursuit that would plague him for all eternity.[1]
