Umbran the Shadow Lich (NPC)

Umbran the Shadow Lich, in life a wealthy Darkonian merchant by the name of Marcus Shadowmehr, was a shadow mage entranced with using the power of shadow to become an immortal lich. As part of developing his potion for lichdom, Shadowmehr captured a shadow to study it and capture its essence. However, this was a shadow created not by undeath but rather by the shadow virus, catching Shadowmehr by surprise. He hurried the experiments, but something went wrong and he wound up in a coma. When he came to, he was somewhere between a lich and a shadow.

Umbran still dwells on his old estate. However, the vines in his grape orchards have begun to grow wild, and Umbran's presence draws shadows of all kind to his lair. Locals call it the Valley of Gloom and shun it. Umbran still continues his original research, though he misses the ability to taste the fine wines he so enjoyed in life.

As a shadow lich, he has the ability to drain Strength instead of the usual lich abilities. He has several other unique abilities, vulnerabilities, and means of destruction as well.
