The Hellbound were created as an experiment of infusing infernal power into humanoid bodies. At the behest of the Emperor of Bael Turath, these tests were held in Harrack Unarth and were largely considered failures, leading to their termination. The formation of Sunderheart saw the souls of the Hellbounds put back into their horrific forms. Although she (at least publicly) disavows their existence, the Hellbound now work as guards and enforcers of her peace. They also serve as spies for Nephigor.[1]
