The Hellbound were created as an experiment of infusing infernal power into humanoid bodies. At the behest of the Emperor of Bael Turath, these tests were held in Harrack Unarth and were largely considered failures, leading to their termination. The formation of Sunderheart saw the souls of the Hellbounds put back into their horrific forms. Although Lady Ivania Dreygu (at least publicly) disavows their existence, the Hellbound now work as guards and enforcers of her peace. They also serve as spies for Nephigor. Though they provided aid for both Dreygus and Nephigor, the Hellbound seem to take orders from neither, rather following the commands of some unknown third party nobody else can communicate with.^[1]
