The Forfarian Calendar starts at 1 FC with the founding of the Kingdom of Firfair and through it, a common Forfarian cultural identity. King Caral Firfair is generally the one credited with this feat. Originally just the clan leader of Clan Firfair, Caral won hero status for uniting the highlanders of future Forfar to defeat and run out the Blars, a violent tribe of invaders from the northwest. In the face of possible future fates and high casualties, Caral persuaded his fellow clan chiefs to unite into a single kingdom..[1]
