Styrix is a night hag drawn into Ravenloft by Azalin. She now resides in Martira Bay, preparing her Rift Spanner for an escape from the Demiplane.

Background

Azalin, ever desperate to escape the Demiplane and have a way to expand his magical ability, opened a one-way gate to the Grey Wastes and drew Styrix in. In later months, the both of them could not find a way to escape, and Azalin considered her useless, banishing her from his keep.

What Azalin did not know was that Styrix discovered a great deal about the Demiplane, far more than he and probably anyone else in Ravenloft. She put her knowledge to work in creating the Rift Spanner, a device with a very good chance to breach the tendrils of Ravenloft's grip and escape to the Prime Material Plane. The only reason she hasn't made use of it and left is she wants Azalin to see what she made as well as watch her escape.

Styrix, like all night hags, has a voracious appetite and consumes one human a day, usually derelicts or drifters that no one would miss. She also kidnaps people to charge her Rift Spanner, which requires mortal souls to operate.

Other Notes

While not in her original entry, and being a lower planar outsider, it can be assumed that Styrix has a reality wrinkle, and cannot be destroyed by conventional combat. It can be probably assumed, given her extensive knowledge of the plane, that her corruption index is 0.
