The Vuchar River was navigable nearly to its source near Nevuchar Springs, albeit in progressively smaller craft. The Requiem altered that situation. Il Aluk was no longer the most important port on the river but rather had become an insurmountable obstacle to river traffic. The shroud surrounding the city and the aggressive undead calling it home, efffectively cut the river in twain. Also in the wake of the Requiem, the Nocturnal Sea was revealed and with it appearance the upper reaches of the Vuchar River, especially above the Khourx River, began to rise and fall like the sea itself, seemingly having fallen under the tidal influence of the sun and the moon, with the result that craft are left high and dry for a signficant part of each day.
