The Vuchar River was easily navigable to Nevuchar Springs, within a mile of its source, albeit in progressively smaller craft. The Requiem altered that situation. Il Aluk went from being the most important port on the river to becoming an insurmountable obstacle to river traffic. The shroud surrounding the dead city and the aggressive undead calling it home, efffectively cut the river in twain. Also in the wake of the Requiem, the Nocturnal Sea was revealed and with its appearance the upper reaches of the Vuchar River, especially above the Khourx River, began to rise and fall like the sea itself, seemingly having fallen under the tidal influence of the sun and the moon, with the result that craft are left high and dry for a significant part of each day. Still, barges from Nevuchar Springs still depart for Maykle and other downriver port.
