The Black Spire is a large, unsettling, natural seemingly spire of glassy, purplish-black stone standing in Hazlan between the the Black Iron Shield and the Misty Border. It is said to a memento of the time before the Great Upheaval when the blasted wastes and nightmare mountains of Bluetspur lay beyond the Hazlani frontier. When struck by lightning, the spire resonates, putting to sleep and depositing in Bluetspur those unfortunate enough to be in its immediate vicinity. The Black Spire then is part of a mistway which is named the Song of Obscene Hunger.
