A less powerful but physically identical form of the lich, the vassalich serves as a minion of the true lich in return for the immortality of undeath.[1] The process is draining, halving the vassalich's former character levels and denying it the ability to gain experience points on its own. Like a true lich, the vassalich has a phylactery for its life force.[2]
The vassalich is (in 2nd Edition terms) described in Van Richten's Guide to the Lich.[3]
