Carrion crawlers are disgusting parasites and ambush predators that hide in the rotting corpses of the deceased until prey nears. Once a victim is nearby, the carrion stalker leaps out and attempts to grapple its foe with its entangling tendrils. If the carrion stalker can move its prey towards the corpse it formerly inhabited, a number of its larvae can infect its victim.[1]
Carrion stalkers resemble horseshoe crabs equipped with several jellyfish like tendrils. .[1]
