Dwarven Vampire
A Dwarven Vampire is a dwarf who has returned from death via the Dwarven Vampire strain of vampirism. This strain only affects dwarves, hence all Dwarven Vampires are both Dwarfs and Vampires, but not all Vampires who are Dwarfs are affected by this strain. It is possible for a Dwarf to contract another strain of vampirism, including the basic version. To avoid this confusion, creatures affected by this strain are also called 
hulzurdan[1] or 
uppyr [2]
The creature is rare in Darkon and unknown beyond its frontiers. Azalin Rex retains three very different instances of the creature in his employ: Axrock, Beryl Silvertress, and Mulger D'Ajust.
The creature enjoys a growing resistance to spells as it ages. A creature that could cast spells in life must in death defeat its own spell resistance to successfully complete the casting of a spell.
