Undeath belongs to the undead. It is a manifestation of negative energy. Druids decry it as breaking the cycle of nature, while many clerics say it cheats mortals of their destined rest in category:death. Undeath may even cheat immortals of their return to life. Undeath is not necessarily corporeal. Nevertheless, it consists of capacity and incapacity. It includes consciousness and, in some cases, self-conciousness. Necrology studies its nature. It is the fruit of necromancy. Goodly clerics condemn it for its effects upon the soul, condemn it as being unholy. For druids and goodly clerics it is transgression. Undeath is often experienced, and sometimes is intended, as a curse. It is a poor substitute for immortality. It is the parody of life.
