In Dr. Victor Mordenheim's recollection of his youth, Gunter was a stable boy that worked for the Mordenheim Family. He fell ill. Doctor Horst operated on him but was ultimately unsuccessful. Young Victor saw bits and pieces of the matter and became both fascinated and invigorated by the process[1]
